Seasons at
The Punch Bowl
2011
From the host of golden daffodils in the Spring, hailed by an orchestra of bird song, and the Summer morning mist evaporating in the sun; to the rich amber shades of autumn walks and crisp ethereal winter days, warmed by logs fires and candle light. As every regular visitor to the Lake District agrees, this is the perfect British destination, as the scenery the fells and countryside, are spectacular at any time, in any weather.
Walkers taking a healthy break from the town find the rain is more refreshing, and the dramatic storm clouds gathering over the surrounding hills of the Lyth Valley, have an impressive magnificence that stays with you; every bit as the fell views, the carpet of early spring daffodils, and the charming bird song.
For our own celebration of the Lakeland seasons, The Punch Bowl is planning our own calendar of events, as well as some of the fetes and festivals in our local area. We hope you will take a look at the seasonal photography, and maybe come and visit for one of these special days.
