Leisure Time
We like our guests to enjoy their time as much as possible whilst staying with us. As each guest has different taste's, we have come up with a variety of different activities that can be found in the surrounding area. We have based these activities on what our previous guests have enjoyed most whilst staying with us.
Walks From Our Doorstep
The best way to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area of the Lyth Valley is often to get out in it. We have a collection of walks available from reception ranging from long expeditions, to much more gentle and relaxed walks. Of course we can't guarantee sunshine, so we would always advise to set out prepared for the worst. To view descriptions of our local walks click here.
Obviously there are many more walks available around the stunning Lake District if you're seeking something a little different. To find out more about other Lake District walks, click here.

Golf
A very popular form of relaxation for our guests tends to be golf. Whilst there isn't a golf course in Crosthwaite itself, there are some lovely courses in the surrounding area offering a variety of both parkland and links courses. Our personal favourite is Windermere Golf Club, due to its spectacular views of the lake and the mountains, especially from the 8th tee. Below are some of the favourite local courses. Other notable mentions have to go to Ulverston Golf Club and Kirkby Lonsdale Golf Club.
Local Events
The Lake District's local events are a big pull for many visitors each year. The three main ones that our previous guests have enjoyed are: Damson Day, The Westmorland County Show and Cartmel Races. To find out more click on the buttons below.
Theatre
A slightly different activity, but still a very popular one is a trip to one of the nearby theatres. There are two lovely local theatres both with prestigious reputations and a wide variety of performances. These are The Old Laundry Theatre, located in Bowness-on-Windermere, and The Theatre By the Lake, Located in the very picturesque town of Keswick.
Museums
It is always interesting to be transferred back in time through the incredible research available at one of our local museums. In The Lake District we are lucky enough to have an incredible variety of museums on offer. Some of the local museums include: The Lakeland Motor Museum, The Ruskin Museum, Dove Cottage and The World of Beatrix Potter.
National Trust Propeties
A great way to see some of the beautiful architecture of the Lake District is by visiting one of the many National Trust properties. There are many different types of places to be visited offering a wide range of styles. Some of our favourite properties are: Sizergh Castle, Wray Castle and Hill Top.
